Overview
The merSETA Internship Programme (2024–2026) offers a structured two-year pathway for young South Africans to gain meaningful work experience across a variety of fields—from ICT and finance to supply chain, HR, and quality management. Hosted by merSETA with key locations in Johannesburg and multiple regional offices, this programme supports widespread skills development at the heart of South Africa’s industrial sectors.
Programme Details
This full-time, on-site initiative guarantees hands-on exposure and job rotations across different units, preparing interns to contribute meaningfully from day one. The programme’s duration is 24 months, with eligibility limited to South African citizens aged between 18 and 35, holding N6, National Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree qualifications but no prior work experience.
Stipend & Benefits
- N6 qualification holders receive R7,950/month
- Diploma or Degree holders receive R8,501.20/month
Location Coverage
Participants will be placed at the Head Office in Parktown, Johannesburg, or one of the regional offices located in Eastern Cape, Western Cape, Gauteng North/South, Free State, Mpumalanga & Limpopo, or KwaZulu-Natal.

- Business Administration, Marketing & Communication, Finance, ICT, Human Resources, Monitoring & Evaluation, Legal & Compliance, Supply Chain, Asset Management, Education & Training Quality Assurance (ETQA), Research & Innovation, Health & Safety, and Client Services.
